Newcrest Vacation Program

The 12-week Newcrest Student Vacation Program is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the mining industry before you graduate. And if you impress us, you could be awarded a Newcrest Vacation Program Scholarship and/or fast-track your way on to the Graduate Program!

Hands-on discovery

The Program usually runs from early December to February. Choosing to spend time at a world-class Newcrest mine site is a voyage of discovery where you’ll find out what the mining industry is like, make great contacts, explore the outdoors and gain priceless career experience.

How does the Student Vacation Program work?

You’ll be assigned your own HR Representative and a Manager, who’ll give you all the support and guidance you need. Early on, you’ll get a chance to go on a Site Tour and to meet graduates who have recently started the two-year Graduate Program.

At the end of the 12 weeks, your Manager will assess your overall performance and provide a recommendation that could see you be awarded a scholarship or fast-track you on to our Graduate Program.

29 - 3 October	Interviews conducted
6 October	Offers out
8 December	Vacation program starts
27 February	Vacation program ends
