If your application meets our requirements, we’ll contact you about the next stage of our selection process. You will be asked to complete three online occupational appraisals which will assess how well you meet the requirements of the graduate role and whether the Newcrest culture will be a good fit for you. The three appraisals cover:
1. Abilities Testing
This will cover your capabilities in three areas:
• Verbal Critical Reasoning
Includes the ability to understand written passages and the logical evaluation of argument.
• Numerical Reasoning
Includes understanding of statistical tables and numerical data and the ability to make logical deductions from them.
• Abstract Reasoning
Measures your problem solving capacity, potential to learn and acquire new skills, versatility of thinking and capacity to solve problems outside your immediate practical experience and training.
2. Work Readiness
You’ll complete a questionnaire with a range of scenarios to evaluate your capacity to take responsibility/ownership for problems as well as your ability to influence, lead, resolve conflicts, negotiate and deal with interpersonal differences.
3. Personality Assessment
This is where we evaluate a range of key success factors, such as your ability to adapt to change, your potential to take on higher roles, your ability to influence and accommodate differences, as well a range of other important predictive criteria for future success.
