Cadia Valley Operations
Cadia Valley offers a rare opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a residential mining community located 25kms from Orange and 3.5 hours west of Sydney. Leading the way in Underground and Open Pit Mining methods, Cadia Valley consists of Cadia, Ridgeway and a host of exciting new developments including the Cadia East and Ridgeway Deeps projects
The open pit operation is a traditional drill, blast, load, haul operation using large hydraulic shovels and 230-tonne haul trucks. The underground operation uses the sub-level caving mining technique, extracting ore in horizontal slices and mining the caved rock which fills the void created by the extraction.
Using some of the largest grinding mills in the world, the combined concentrator facility for the Cadia Valley Operations treats over 21 million tonnes of ore a year.
